Safety of the used color

Color, which can be used for the dye by wood residual substances, are subject to certain purity requirements around a damage of humans and animal as well as the soil and groundwater to exclude. The highest requirements posed thereby result from the EEC guideline 88/378/EEC for the adjustment of the legislation over the security of toy. The guideline makes the European standard EN 71 “security of toys”, part 3 “migration of certain elements” for technical requirements its component. It is particularly from interest, where children come into contact with colored mulch products, i.e. to take up appropriate materials over the mouth. The requirements refer to the migratable elements from toy and toy parts. The limit values of the elements mentioned soluble in 0,07n hydrochloric acid in table 1 may not be crossed. The data concerning the daily admission mentioned above of elements, tolerable given in the EEC guideline part of II, as objective form the basis for these limit values while handling toy. The limit values specified in the standard apply not to the color but to the finished article, thus the pigmented lacquer, the plastic, mark pin or the like. Strictly taken thereafter the dyed article of an examination must be submitted. If the pigments however already meet the requirements, then an excess of the limit values is not possible by them.
